Google has apologized for a mistake in their logo, dedicated to Russia’s victory in the bidding for World Cup 2018.The logo on Google‘s front page, published on the night of December 2, had the colors of the Russian flag all mixed up, with the blue and the red stripes in their opposite places.
"We apologize for a mistake we made in our logo last night. We’re trying to fix it as quickly as possible. Hope you like the logo," the statement in the official Google Russia microblog on Twitter said.
The logo was corrected a few hours after the apologies appeared on the web.
The flag of the Russian federation is a tricolor of three equal horizontal stripes – white on the top, blue in the middle and red on the bottom.
Russia has won the honor of hosting the World Cup 2018 after a December 2 vote by the FIFA executive committee.
